Join us at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo for our 28th Annual Autumn Gala, Thursday evening, October 6!
The Annual Autumn Gala is the largest and most crucial fundraiser for Alternatives of Kalamazoo, a ministry committed to sharing the Love of Jesus Christ in both word and deed with men, women and children in the greater Kalamazoo community. As Alternatives of Kalamazoo continues to reach a record number of services being used, the needs of the ministry grow greater. To put it simply, we can't do this without you!
THE SPEAKER: Janet Parshall
Janet Parshall is the host and executive producer of “In The Market with Janet Parshall.” It airs daily during afternoon drive-time on over 500 stations nationwide via Moody Radio.
Janet Parshall has been consistently profiled as one of the top 100 "talkers" in Talkers magazine, the leading trade publication of the talk industry. In 2008, Janet was awarded the National Religious Broadcasters On-Air Personality of the Year. Janet was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Religious Broadcasters in 1998, and has served on its Executive Board since 2001. She is the recipient of the Excellence in Communications award from Women in Christian Media. Janet was also elected to Sigma Delta Omega for high attainments in the field of broadcasting.
Throughout her career, Janet has been a devoted advocate of the principles and policies that strengthen the family. In February 2005, Parshall was selected by President George W. Bush to represent the White House as public delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. As a radio and television commentator, author, and advocate for the family, Janet speaks nationwide on public policy issues that impact family preservation and promotion. She has appeared on numerous national television and radio programs, including Crossfire, Hardball, Nightline, Larry King Live, Donahue, The 700 Club, Hannity & Colmes and NewsNight with Aaron Brown, and has also appeared on various other programs on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, CBN, PBS, the BBC and NPR. Janet has also been featured in People magazine.
Janet is a graduate of Carroll College in Wisconsin. She was appointed twice by Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson to the Wisconsin Women's Council, and the Governor's Commission on Families and Children.
Janet is a columnist for LIFE: Beautiful magazine and the author of several books. She and her husband, Craig, live in Virginia, and have four children and six grandchildren.

Thank you for considering serving as a Table Host for our 28th Annual Autumn Gala.
The requirements for hosting a table are simple. An individual or couple serving as a table host will:
As a table host you may wonder who you should ask. This is a great opportunity to invite friends, business associates and community leaders who may not know about Alternatives. At the Autumn Gala, they can hear first hand about the ministry through our program presentation and client testimonies.
- Be supportive of the Alternatives mission
- Faithfully pray for the Autumn Gala in the weeks preceding the event
- Invite six - seven guests to fill a table of eight (including you)
Since the primary purpose of the event is fundraising, we are requesting that table hosts prayerfully invite friends and acquaintances who have the capacity to support our ministry. Also, please make your guests aware that it is a fundraising banquet, and while there will be no pressure to give - an opportunity will be extended.
