Education for Parents
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.
- Psalm 127:3
And, as parents, it's our job to do all that we can to make sure they are safe, loved and handled with care from conception, through the teen years and into adulthood. Join us at Alternatives for classes that will enrich your parenting experience and enhance your skills for life.
Parenting Class Offerings
This 2-hour class meets weekly and is designed to increase parent-child connectedness by examining parenting styles, effective communication techniques and fundamental needs of children that must be provided in the home. A 1-hour, 12 week class is also offered at some locations.
This course is designed to increase communication between parents and their teens regarding sexual health, resulting in a delay in the age of sexual debut.
Offered community-wide, these educational workshops for parents cover a variety of topics. Titles include: Great Parenting, Understanding Child Development, Effective Communication, and Discipline for Children. Please contact the Educational Outreach Department for a complete list of topics and pricing or to schedule a workshop for your organization.
